LMSA Overview

Robert Lindblom Math and Science Academy is one of nine selective enrollment high schools in the Chicago Public Schools system, District 299. Lindblom is located in West Englewood on Chicago’s South Side and draws the best students from all city areas. Our student body is approximately 97% minority and approximately 65% low-income.

Mission:
Lindblom is an inclusive, challenging , and supportive community that empowers students to become compassionate leaders who understand, engage and impact the world.

Educational Environment
Lindblom provides more continuous learning, with the same instructional days as other schools. In addition, most courses are offered on a block schedule, which allows for greater depth of study while simulating the seminar courses at the university level.

Lindblom offers a demanding college preparatory curriculum where all core courses are honors and Advanced Placement. We offer students opportunities beyond the traditional curriculum and therefore expect much of students in all subject areas.

Programs:
Our programs are stellar.  With all Honors and Advanced Placement classes, students have rich opportunities in all areas.

In Science: We were the first to offer Biotechnology and have a deep partnership with Northwestern University to support teacher training and classroom support  We have a long term and wonderful partnership with Baxter International.

In our technology-rich Mathematics program, we have the integrated Core Plus program to make certain that math is more than just an exercise; it has real-world application.

In History, our students look deeply at issues that affect their world. In English, we have an extra emphasis in writing to bring students the skills they need to be successful.
