The 9th grade Human Geography team is putting on our 9th annual Lindblom Urban Planning Fair on Weds, June 3rd, from 1-3 PM, in the Lindblom Ballroom, and you're invited!
If you're not familiar with the fair, we ask students to think of how they'd like to transform their neighborhood or the city of Chicago, and then students design and propose solutions. Their proposed solutions range from better designed bus stops, to dog parks and small business innovation hubs, to planning entire neighborhoods and thinking about what Chicago will look like in 50 years. We invite architects, urban planners, community organizations, and city/county officials to come see student projects. We are also lucky enough to be supporting student projects with a $2,000 grant for project supplies, and another $1,000 in scholarships to support students interested in exploring careers in planning over the summer.
We'd love for you to stop by and see student projects at the fair and give students feedback! Unfortunately, we likely won't be able to accommodate entire classes to come see the projects, unless your class is 10 students or less- say, if you have lost all your seniors and just have a few juniors left.
